AG Rugby Hires Former USA Rugby Captain Dave Hodges

Hodges Brings Decades of Experience to New Role

AUSTIN, TX—July 3, 2021

AG Rugby is pleased to announce the hiring of Dave Hodges as Director of Player Personnel. A former USA National team captain, Hodges brings decades of playing and coaching experience to his new role.

Hodges, who played for the USA Rugby Men's Eagles from 1996-2004, is one of the most-capped Eagles in history, earning 53 international caps in the back row during an eight-year span. He also served as captain of the team from 2000-2003.

Following his playing career, Hodges transitioned to coaching, serving as an assistant coach with the Austin Huns from 2005-2007. He then took over as head coach of the USA Rugby Collegiate All-Americans in 2008, a position he held until 2012.

Hodges' most recent coaching role was with the Houston SaberCats of Major League Rugby, where he served as an assistant coach from 2018-2020. He left the SaberCats following the 2020 season, and his current role within rugby was uncertain until AG Rugby's announcement.
