NASA Astronauts Sunita Williams, Barry E. Wilmore To Retire
Sunita Williams set the record for longest spacewalks by a woman, while Barry Wilmore commanded two spaceflights
The two astronauts will retire by the end of 2022
Veteran NASA astronauts Sunita Williams and Barry E. Wilmore announced their retirement from the agency, concluding a combined 54 years and 5 spaceflights.
Sunita Williams broke the record for most spacewalks by a woman. She was the second woman to serve as commander of the International Space Station, leading two expeditions.
As for Barry Wilmore, he took command of two spaceflights, one to the Space Station in 2014 and the other an orbital test flight of Boeing’s Starliner spacecraft in 2019.
