South Wales villagers tormented by mystery plague of flies
Residents at their wits' end as millions of insects invade homes and businesses
Villagers in South Wales are being tormented by a mystery plague of flies that has invaded their homes and businesses.
The insects have been swarming in their millions, causing misery for residents who say they are at their wits' end.
One resident, who did not want to be named, said: "It's like something out of a horror film. There are flies everywhere you go.
"They're in our homes, they're in our businesses, they're even in our food.
"We can't open our windows or doors without being swarmed by them.
"It's making life a misery." Another resident said: "I've never seen anything like it.
Council and experts baffled
"There are so many flies that you can't even see the sun.
"It's making it impossible to live here." The council and experts are baffled by the sudden influx of flies.
They are currently investigating the cause of the problem, but have not yet been able to identify it.
The council has advised residents to take steps to prevent flies from entering their homes, such as keeping windows and doors closed, and using fly screens.
They have also urged residents to report any sightings of flies to the council.
The experts are still investigating the cause of the fly infestation, but they believe it could be due to a number of factors, including the warm weather, the lack of rain, and the presence of a nearby landfill site.
The council is working with the experts to try to find a solution to the problem.
In the meantime, residents are being advised to take steps to protect themselves from the flies, such as wearing insect repellent and avoiding areas where there are large numbers of flies.
